mnoGoSearch is a full-featured free search engine software for intranet and internet servers. mnoGoSearch has number of unique features, which makes it appropriative for a wide range of application from search within your site to specialized search system such as cooking recipes or newspaper search, ftp archive search, news articles search, etc. mnoGoSearch consists of two parts. The first is an indexing mechanism (indexer). The purpose of indexer is to walk through HTTP, FTP, NEWS servers or local files, recursively grabbing all the documents and storing meta-data about that documents in a SQL database in a smart and effective manner. After every document is referenced by its corresponding URL, meta-data which collected by indexer are used later in a search process. The search is performed via Web interface. C CGI, PHP and Perl search front ends are included.

PhpDig is a very small search engine written in PHP that uses a MySQL database on backend. Features: indexes both static and dynamic pages; Spiders almost all links in html content, in hrefs, areamaps, frames; and Full text indexing. 1.4.4 Update:PhpDig can now spider a site binded to another port than 80, and spider a password protected site. Ehanced directory view in admin mode. Islandic special characters are now supported. Working on a E_ALL error_reporting level fixed. Bad Last-Modified HTTP header parsing fixed.

Review It - PHPSiteSearch
PHPSearch is a search script which replies on no outside programs. The script indexes you site into a text database. You have the option of either indexing from meta tags or a full index of all words. Ideal for small to medium sites. With only a few lines of code to edit it is very easy to install. Options include the ability to excluded words/files from the index. Version 1.7.7 includes many more user friendly and helpful error messages and a couple of bug fixes.
